Capture memories of your cat’s personality and beauty….

Cats often get missed from most photographers’ portfolios which is just rude!! But in all honesty, they can be difficult pets to capture beautifully and really need a specialist.  My feline images have won awards nationally as I have a detailed understanding of these unique animals combined with my intricate knowledge and experience of photographing your special pets.

My cat photo shoots can be either an outdoor session ( in your garden or a local wood)  or held in my studio which is perfect for indoor cats.  If your cat goes outside it is worth considering an outdoor cat photoshoot as they are extremely unique.  We discuss your surroundings and work out what would suit best and keep your cat safe of course.  With  cat studio photoshoots you can be guaranteed a truly stunning fine art shoot with contrasting backgrounds.

Both sessions offer an opportunity to have a beautiful portrait shot of yourself with your cat.

Cat portrait sessions are about an hour long but expect to be out a bit longer if we are on location.  Either way  there is no rush and I work with both of you creating an experience and memories that will last forever.

ready to book your cat photoshoot?

Nic was very patient with our cat, who was confused by the proceedings bless him.  The resulting photos were stunning and I’d definitely recommend her.

Pre-photoshoot

Does my cat need to be well trained for the photoshoot to work?

I have many years of experience photographing cats.  Can you really train a cat?!? I know the tricks of the trade to get their attention and to capture those moments of stillness and cats are such unique creatures we have to go with their lead.  Please don’t worry we will create some stunning images.  Please call me on 07879 840171 to chat or drop me a line on my email with any worries you may have and I can advise.

Can you help me choose the right photoshoot?

Absolutely!  If your cat does not go outdoors please book the studio shoot. Otherwise you have a choice.  If they have a tendancy to run for their lives when they’re outdoors then a studio shoot may be best.;  I have however worked with very young cats as well on location.  Please call me on 07879 840171 to chat or drop me a line on my email.

How does the booking process work?

Once you have decided that you would like to book a session with me, we first agree a mutually convenient date.

I will then send you a session contract that can be completed electronically and an invoice that can be settled via bank transfer which acts a retainer to secure your session. Once the contract is returned and payment complete your date is secured.

I will send you a link to a Pinterest board in advance of the session so that you have some ideas or what to bring and/or what to wear for you and/or those also taking part in the photoshoot.

How do you take payment? Do you take card payments?

An initial payment is made via bank transfer in advance in order to secure your agreed photoshoot session date.

I can take card transactions in person when you place your order at my studio

What shall I wear?

I encourage owners to be in the photography session with their cat and as with all my sessions clothing choices really make a difference to the finished look of your images. I will send you a Pinterest board with advice regarding clothing specifically for cat photoshoots be they outdoors or in my studio.

Generally I advise no logos, bold patterns or stripes. Try to avoid bright coats or wellies – it’s better to blend with your surroundings and allow your dog to be the star of the show!

Do I need to bring anything with me to the photoshoot?

I send plenty of advice in the run up to your photoshoot. This includes a brush, wipes and their favourite toy.

The photoshoot

What if it rains on my photoshoot?

I always book a back up date with you in the case of inclement weather for photoshoots on location.

I will stay in touch with you in the run up to the photoshoot session and, depending on the forecast, can change the time slightly if it will help with light and weather conditions.  If it does end up raining heavily and it doesn’t look as though it will stop we will halt the session and reschedule to complete.  This does not happen very often!!

Post-photoshoot

When and where can I see the images from my photoshoot?

Unless otherwise specified, images will be ready for viewing about 2-3 weeks after your shoot. I prefer to invite you to a post-shoot viewing session at my home studio so you get to see your images in a video on a large screen without watermarks.  This also gives you the opportunity to view samples of my prints and framed products before placing an order. This is not a hard sell, simply a great chance to choose what will work best for your home and allow me to sort everything for you.

If it is not possible for you to visit me I now do Zoom Viewing Sessions where you can see your slideshow of images and we can discuss options for your home.  In advance of the session I will have created some examples of the types of wall art that suit your home via a selection of digital mock-ups.

My prints and frames product guide can also be seen here.

Will I get to see all of the images you took on my photoshoot?

No you won’t see all the raw images.  I take many, many images over the session and will choose the best to edit and then present to you at our Viewing Session.  This varies depending upon the length of the photoshoot. The one hour Owner and Me Photoshoot will have 5 -10 edited images to view, whereas a full 2 hour shoot will likely have approximately 15-20 edited images.

Further final edits are carried out once you have chosen your favourite images, however you may purchase all the images in your gallery should you so wish.

Can I print the images myself?

I only work with the best professional photographic laboratories in the UK and can therefore ensure perfect colour and excellent quality should you wish to order prints with me.

However if you choose to purchase the rights to the image in for form of the full resolution digital files from your photoshoot, you can print the images yourself. Full details of my pricing for digital images can be found here.

I only work with the best professional photographic laboratories in the UK and can therefore ensure perfect colour and excellent quality should you wish to order prints with me.

Most of my photoshoot sessions come with a complimentary 6 x 8″ mounted print so you can see exactly how the images should look before choosing to order any further prints.

Can you get the images framed for me?

Yes of course!

I want you to have an opportunity to leave with finished artwork ready to hang and start enjoying as soon as possible. I also take away the worry of having to find a supplier that will print your images beautifully or finding a suitable framer.

All my photographic equipment is calibrated to ensure accurate colour representation and I only use professional, UK based print laboratories and wall art manufacturers who have the highest standards in production quality.

My prints and frame product guide can be found here or please contact me for a full price guide.

How many photos will I get from my photoshoot?

You only order what you like after the shoot. There is no obligation to purchase anything after your session should you not wish to.  I offer a wide variety of frames and other wall art, along with print boxes so once you have seen your images you can choose how to display them.
